Aspira Education is hiring Learning Mentors to work in Derbyshire schools, supporting pupils with SEND, emotional regulation needs, low confidence, and behavioural challenges.

This is a brilliant opportunity for individuals with experience in youth work, mentoring, mental health support, coaching, or care — or anyone who’s helped others build resilience and self-belief.

About the Role

As a Learning Mentor, you’ll:

• Work 1:1 and in small groups with pupils to build confidence, resilience, and motivation
• Help students manage emotional challenges that affect their learning
• Provide a trusted point of contact — someone they feel safe talking to
• Encourage healthy relationships, independence, and self-esteem
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to create a joined-up support plan

You’ll work full-time, Monday to Friday, during term time in a mainstream or specialist school — or alternative provision where needed.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for individuals who are:

• Empathetic, calm, and confident with young people from all backgrounds
• Experienced in mentoring, youth work, coaching, or support settings
• Motivated by seeing young people grow — socially, emotionally, and academically

Whether you’re returning to work or changing careers, we’ll provide training, structure, and guidance.

All applicants must have:

• The right to work in the UK
• A clear Enhanced DBS (or be willing to apply)
• Two recent references
• A willingness to complete free online safeguarding training
