Aspira Education is seeking confident and experienced professionals to take on Teaching Cover Lead roles across secondary schools in Derbyshire. This is a step up from traditional cover — ideal for people with proven behaviour management skills and a passion for education.

About the Role

As a Teaching Cover Lead, you’ll:

• Take full responsibility for delivering pre-set lesson plans
• Maintain engagement and manage the classroom professionally
• Provide a calm and structured environment where students can thrive
• Be the go-to cover presence in the school — consistent, reliable, and respected
• Liaise with subject teachers, SENCOs, and SLT regarding student progress and support

This is a full-time, long-term opportunity in a school that values your leadership and presence.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or HLTA
• Confidence delivering lessons independently
• Strong classroom presence and excellent behaviour management
• A professional, calm approach under pressure
• An interest in SEND or pastoral support is a bonus

Requirements

• Right to work in the UK
• Enhanced DBS (or willing to apply)
• Two recent professional references
• Experience working in secondary schools
