£96.09 per day | Full time (5 days per week) with some positions available for Part-Time (Minimum 2 Days per Week) | Temporary (potential to go temp-perm) | CPD-accredited training provided

Aspira Education is recruiting Specialist SEND Support Assistants for a special school in Chesterfield (S40 4BN), supporting learners aged 419 with a range of additional needs.
Youll join a compassionate, values-led team helping pupils develop communication, social, and life skills in a safe, structured environment.

Were looking for candidates who can start week commencing 3rd November 2025 for the first intake however there will also be additional roles following this date .
Full-time roles are available, but we can also offer part-time or day-to-day work youll need to be available for full school days, but you can choose to work from 2 to 5 days per week depending on your availability.

This is a temporary role initially with the potential to move into a long-term or permanent position following performance reviews.

 

About the Role

As a Specialist SEND Support Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils on a one-to-one or small-group basis across different age ranges (419).
  • Provide sensitive personal care support, such as toileting, maintaining dignity and respect at all times.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, confidence, and social interaction.
  • Adapt to individual learning needs and communication styles.
  • Work alongside teachers, therapists, and support teams to promote progress and wellbeing.
  • Contribute to a calm, structured, and nurturing learning environment.

 

What Were Looking For

This role would suit someone who:

  • Has experience in personal care, social care, or residential care settings.
  • Is calm, reliable, and able to build positive relationships with young people.
  • Understands the importance of compassion and consistency in a SEND setting.
  • Holds (or can provide evidence of) relevant training or care certificates.
  • Online Safeguarding for schools and behaviour management training will be provided free of charge through the Aspira Training Academy.
  • Can commit to full school days, either full-time or part-time across the week.

 

All Applicants Must Have

  • The right to work in the UK.
  • A clear Enhanced Child and Adult DBS (or be willing to apply through Aspira Education).
  • Two recent references.
  • A willingness to complete free online safeguarding training.
