Aspira Education is hiring Active Learning Assistants to work in Derbyshire schools, supporting pupils who struggle with traditional classroom learning due to SEND, ADHD, or SEMH needs.

This is a brilliant opportunity for anyone with experience in sports, outdoor education, youth coaching, or behaviour support — especially if you thrive on dynamic, relationship-based work.

About the Role

As an Active Learning Assistant, you will:

• Engage pupils through movement-based, kinaesthetic and hands-on learning
• Support in-class and during active interventions like outdoor tasks, coaching, or creative play
• Help reduce anxiety and increase engagement using structure, praise, and positive energy
• Encourage teamwork, communication, and self-belief in learners who struggle in traditional lessons
• Work with SEND and behaviour teams to support emotional and academic progress

What We’re Looking For

• A background in physical education, youth coaching, or creative/active learning
• The ability to bring energy, boundaries, and positivity to challenging situations
• A flexible, practical mindset and great communication with young people

All applicants must have:

• The right to work in the UK
• A clear Enhanced DBS (or be willing to apply)
• Two recent references
• A willingness to complete free online safeguarding training
